Access to security roles is not available in the Unified Client Interface sitemap. To access security roles, on the main toolbar of the Unified Client Interface, select the Settings icon . From the drop down list, select Advanced Settings to open Settings in a new browser window that uses the legacy client interface. Navigate to Settings > Security. Select the menu item for Security Roles to open the list of security roles by Business Unit. Select to open a security role where you can view the privileges granted to that role. Note the various tabs across the top of each role, which include Details, Core Records, Marketing, Sales, Service, Business Management, Customization, Missing Entities, Business Process Flows, and Custom Entities. All UX custom entities are managed in the last tab, Custom Entities. Dynamics CRM entities, such as account and contact records, are managed in the Core Records Tab. Assigning security roles to a user You can assign security roles to users to give them the necessary privileges and access levels for the activities they perform in UX. From the drop down list, select Advanced Settings to open Settings in a new browser window that uses the legacy client interface. Navigate to Settings > Security. Select the menu item for Users to open the Enabled Users List View. Click the check box next to the user where you want to assign security roles. Selecting a user will activate the Manage Roles button on the list view toolbar. Select Manage Roles on the toolbar to open the Manage User Roles dialog. Select or de-select the roles for the user and click OK to close the dialog and return to the Enabled Users List View. 11
