Create a new security role
On the main toolbar of the Unified Client Interface, select the Settings icon . From the drop down
list, select Advanced Settings to open Settings in a new browser window that uses the legacy client
interface. Navigate to Settings > Security. Select the menu item for Security Roles to open a list of
existing security roles deployed with your system. On the List toolbar of the security roles list, click
New to open the New Security Role record.
In the new record, enter a name for the new security role that clearly identifies this role as a custom
role for organization.
Note
Protech recommends that you add the acronym for your organization at the beginning of the
name.
Mark the necessary settings for this role’s privileges and access levels. (For more information, see
Modifying privileges and access levels for a new security role.) Then click Save & Close.
Modifying privileges and access levels for a new security role
You can modify the privileges and access levels for a new security role that you have created to
control the UX entities that users in that role can manipulate.
Important
Do not make changes to any of the security roles deployed with your system. For more
information, see UX security roles.
Entities, privileges and access levels are grouped on the Role record on the several tabs related to
the different functional areas within UX. In the Role record, click the tab that includes the entities
where you want to set privileges and access levels.
