Update MX to route e-mail from Microsoft 365
Protech strongly recommends pointing your MX website to send email using Microsoft 365. Using your existing Microsoft 365 tenant improves deliverability scores and allows you to easily trace messages using Exchange Admin Center. There are two methods for pointing your MX website to your Microsoft 365 tenant for e-mail.
Note: For the scope of this documentation, all“ MX” references are for a Protech product supporting the customer website portal, not in reference to an MX record as it relates to email setup.
Method 1: Anonymous SMTP Relay( Recommended)
1. Requirements:
• A connector needs to be configured to allow Microsoft 365 to relay MX emails originating from Protech’ s IP addresses.
2. Follow Microsoft Documentation under Step-by-step configuration instructions for SMTP relay.
• On the new connector wizard screen from step 2c, make sure to select Your organization’ s email server. Not checking this may cause a relay access denied error on send.
