Note: Once Step 1 and Step 2 are complete the users will sync into each Dynamics 365 environment( Production and Staging) within 1 hour( usually 15-20 minutes). The users will show as Enabled but there is one more step to provide their permission to each Dynamics 365 environment( Step 3).
Step 3: Assign the user Dynamics 365 Security Roles

This step should be completed by a power user or Dynamics 365 administrator on your staff. This step should not be requested from Protech or your Microsoft 365 vendor. Security Role assignments are required for each Dynamics 365 environment( production and staging). Security Role assignments will transfer with a UX staging refresh, but new users should be setup with access to each environment. We recommend comparing roles to an existing staff resource when adding a new user who will perform a similar position for your organization. 1. Login to Microsoft’ s Power Platform Admin Center( https:// admin. powerplatform. microsoft. com)
2. Go to Manage – Environments and select the Environment( production or sandox) and click to open. 3. Select Settings from the top toolbar, then Users + Permissions, and finally Users. 4. We recommend filtering for Enabled Users( upper right). 5. Locate and select the row for the user you are working with, and select Manage security roles from the top toolbar. 6. Select the roles you wish to assign, then click Save. a. Note, the minimum role assignment for a Full user is the UX Core security role, and for a Lite user the Sales Team Member security role. b. You may see the Sales Enterprise App access assign automatically, this should not be removed, is related to the MS D365 license synchronization.
7. Repeat the above steps for any additional environments the user requires access to( ex. production or staging).
8. Have the user confirm their access by logging into each environment and confirming access to the UX 365 Online or UX 365 Team Member application( s) is available.
