Each Award setup can have multiple paths , or Tracks , toward achieving that award , with each Track containing one or more Education Items as requirements ( Award Track Requirements ) for completing that Track .
You can flag an Award setup for members only . Other options include using the Award Code as the Professional Designation in a contact record , defining the Designation Sequence , as well as defining Designations that should be replaced , if any , by this Award Designation .
Awards can be permanent , requiring no renewal / recertification , or Awards can require renewal either through completion of one or more Education Items as renewal requirements ( Award Renewal Requirements ), or through payment of a renewal invoice ( Invoice Required for Renewal ?), or both .
For Awards with renewal requirements ( those that not permanent or those that only require payment of a renewal invoice ), each award must include Recert Requirements .
If renewal of an Award requires payment of an invoice ( Invoice Required for Renewal = true ), Award setup requires an Award product ( Recert / Renew Product ). You will need to create this Product in the Product Sales work area , with a Product Type = Award . Pricing for renewal is managed through the Prices records in the Recert / Renew Product ( Product Type = Award ) you select in the Award setup .
All awards can share the same Recert / Renew Product if pricing is the same for all Award renewals and the GL Detail for payments is the same for all Awards . If , however , your organization charges different renewal pricing for its Awards or if GL Detail for renewal payments differs for Awards , you will need to create multiple Recert / Renew Products ( Product Type = Award ) and select the appropriate one in each Award setup .
An Award Cycle Method can be either Calendar-based or Anniversary-based . If Calendar-based , you will select the calendar month that the renewal cycle begins and the calendar cut-off month . If Anniversary-based , you will select current month ( for the 1st of current month ), next month for the 1st of the next month ), or cut-off day ( day of the month where the cycle begins on the 1st of the next month ).
