Online Library UX 365 Type and Price List Specific Promotions | Page 3
Overview
Similar to the logic used for Gift Certificates, UX 365 allows your organization to define the specific
transaction or transaction types to which promotion codes can be applied. Users have the option to
define the eligibility of a promotion for all transactions (‘All Products’), restrict the promotion for one
or more specific transaction modules (selected Module(s)), or to restrict the promotion to one or
more specific transaction types (‘Specific Type’).
Another new feature in UX 365 Promotions allows your organization to assign a Price List in the
promotion setup record to restrict the promotion by invoice price list.
This whitepaper assumes you have the basic skills to create a Promotion record in UX Online and
focuses on setting up Promotions as a discount for specific transaction types and setting up
Promotions for specific price lists.
To help you understand these new features, this whitepaper is organized in the following sections:
• Specific Type Promotions
‣ Create Promotion Type Records
• Price List Specific Promotions
• Applying the Promotion as a Discount
• Schema Changes
Specific Type Promotions
New in UX 365 is the ‘Specific Type’ option in the Apply Promotion section of the promotion setup
record. Options for ‘All Products’ and ’Modules’ from earlier versions remain available for selection.
The ‘Specific Products’ and ‘Specific Rates’ options in earlier versions have been deprecated. Setup to
manage Product, Meeting, and Rate-specific promotions is now managed in the setup of a ‘Specific
Type’ promotion record.
In summary, the Apply Promotions tab in UX 365 contains the following options for selection:
• All Products – When ‘All Products’ is selected, all other options are locked. Select this option
if the promotion can be applied as a discount for any transaction type.
• Selected Module(s) – When you de-select ‘All Products’, other options are enabled for
selection. If the promotion can be applied to all transactions by module, select the module
or modules that the promotion can be applied to as a discount. Available modules in UX 365
currently include:
